Supporting Veteran with a Little Lamp

3D Printing has created a means for me to make some interesting things from Videogame prop items that I’ve made for friends from Skyrim, to Prop Guns from Cyberpunk or Fallout. I have always found that I have wanted to make things for Veterans in some form or capacity. As briefly as it was that I served with the Forces here in Canada before I took a Voluntarily Release (because military medical doctors suck), I found out 7 years later what was wrong with my legs through years of testing and lack of belief from doctors that there was anything wrong with my legs.

The people that I know and have worked with and for have been a helping guiding light in some of my darkest of days, it goes to say that there are Veterans that go through some dark periods in their lives. I wanted to make something to brighten their world even a little and so I designed and made this lamp. It was one of my first fully designed box that I learned where you gotta be really on your mark with sizing, and how to 3D model.

The guy that I built this lamp for had gone through some heavy dark days in the past and yet he was always willing to be a guiding light for me, he helped me grow, accept that I will be this physically broken for the rest of my life (Myofascial Pain Syndrome, both legs, Chronic) but I can’t ever give up no matter how bad it gets.

Making things is my happy place, making stuff that works through learning a highlight and well… I think I set out what I wanted to make and for the guy I made this for… the smile on his face when I gave it to him was worth everything to me.
