3D Printed Props

Well, it seems that I finally have a website… still figuring this stuff out, gotta say that I’m not entirely good with building stuff like this and yet… yet I am able to make something for a Canadian Heritage Moment that was for World War 1 and the history Canadians had Sikh Regiment as they fought the enemy to keep Europe free.

I managed to work with a guy that had a 3D model of the Bayonet that fit onto the K98 (In film… you don’t always get what you want… it sucks, but it is the deal that you have to find something that does work for weapons) The Bayonets that I created for the short were 3D Printed and 100% functional in terms of being able to fit onto the Rifle Lug. I was so proud of my ability to make them. And while they aren’t painted for the realism of an actual blade, I adjusted so that they could be seen better on Camera in the fog and haze which they did amazingly.

The other Bayonets unfortuantely for the Enfields that were made by someone else did not survive the shoot and when I had to make them fit, most of the barrel lug rings broke due to the weather and the cold. It was an experiment into the beginnings of making something that worked well and didn’t need to be Mold and Casted in the traditional sense of props building. I might be looked at weirdly by other people in the industry, but I like to think that I can creatively do something new with what limited means that I have.
